Prior to forming Caputo & Mariotti, Joseph Mariotti was an associate at a local law firm and was a solo practitioner from October of 1995 to June 2002. Thereafter, he was involved in the formation of Coviello & Mariotti and later Caputo and Mariotti.

Christopher P. Caputo Esquire, served as a Lackawanna County Assistant District Attorney for Nine years, he later served as an associate at the Insurance defense firm of O’Malley Harris Durkin & Perry before forming Caputo & Mariotti.

Attorney Christopher Caputo was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania in 1994. He is a graduate of the University of Scranton and received his Juris Doctorate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

In 1994 Attorney Caputo was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney for Lackawanna County and thereafter, was elevated to the position of Deputy District Attorney, heading the Lackawanna United Drug Enforcement Team from 1994 through 2003. While a Deputy District Attorney, Attorney Caputo tried, investigated and led hundreds of criminal investigations and prosecutions, including capital murder prosecutions, murder prosecutions, conspiracy to commit murder prosecutions and attempted murder prosecutions.

In addition to the handling and trying of complex criminal investigations and matters, Attorney Caputo was sworn in as a Special Assistant United States Attorney to investigate organized criminal activities in Lackawanna County. He was also sworn in as Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania supervising wiretap investigations and criminal prosecutions into narcotics trafficking in Lackawanna County.

Attorney Caputo was hired by the law firm of O’Malley Harris Durkin & Perry in 2003 and was part of a litigation team handling representation of doctors and hospitals accused of professional or corporate negligence. Additionally, as part of the litigation team, Attorney Caputo represented townships, real estate corporations and large companies in multi-million dollar claims.

In 2007 Attorney Caputo joined Attorney Mariotti and soon formed Caputo & Mariotti, where he has dedicated his practice to protecting the rights of individuals who have been seriously injured and harmed due to the negligence of others. He also handles matters involving bad faith insurance claims and has successfully litigated against insurance companies who have denied client’s claims for personal injuries and catastrophic property loss. Since 2007, Attorney Caputo has successfully tried, litigated and/or settled hundreds of personal injury cases and bad faith cases obtaining millions of dollars in compensation for his client’s damages and losses.

Joseph E. Mariotti

Pennsylvania Lawyer Representing Personal Injury and Accident Victims and Families Who Have Suffered Serious Injuries or Wrongful Death.

Joseph E. Mariotti was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Scranton in 1987 and from Loyola University School of Law where he received a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1992. Mr. Mariotti is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and has been admitted to practice in the U.S.D.C. for the Southern District of Ohio.

He has practiced in Scranton, Pennsylvania since 1992 and has extensive experience representing Plaintiffs in personal injury cases and class action cases including, McNulty et. Al. v. H&R Block and Evans et.al. v. Lowe’s, (U.S.D.C. Middle District of PA, Eastern Division), Smith v. Lowe’s (U.S.D.C. Southern District of Ohio, Eastern Division). Mr. Mariotti was appointed Co-Lead Counsel in the McNulty et. Al. v. H&R Block, by the Honorable Patricia Corbett of the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Mariotti was also appointed Co-Lead counsel in the Class action case of Boyle v. Progressive (U.S.D.C. Eastern District of PA).

He has tried and settled hundreds of Auto Injury cases, Product Liability, Medical Malpractice cases, Slip & Fall and other personal injury cases. He has also represented Plaintiffs in numerous worker’s compensation, social security disability, and uninsured and underinsured arbitration cases.

CM Quinnan

Shawn P. Quinnan, Esq.

Admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania Courts since 1990, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Educational and Professional Background

Following a Judicial Clerkship with The Honorable Carlon M. O’Malley III, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Lackawanna County, Atty. Quinnan began private legal practice in 1991. Atty. Quinnan prepared and filed his first consumer Bankruptcy petition in 1993. Atty. Quinnan has lectured on the changes in Bankruptcy rules before the Bar Association.

He has appeared in Courts both Federal and State on behalf of his clients in 15 Pennsylvania counties, including appearances in Federal Courts in Philadelphia, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh.

Atty. Quinnan received a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University in 1987. He received a Law Degree from Ohio Northern University in 1990 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar the same year.

Accomplishments
